The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed three separate cases in Tangail and Faridpur over embezzlement of government relief.
ACC deputy assistant director of Tangail office Md Sarowar Hossain filed a case accusing Jadabpur union parishad member of embezzling rice of card holders of Food Friendly Programme (FFP) from 2016 to 2020.
In Faridpur, ACC assistant director Md Abu Sayed filed another case accusing Arshinagar union chairman Md Samsuddoha and secretary Jahangir Alam for embezzling 1,050 kg rice.
Another case was filed by Sourav Das, deputy assistant director Faridpur ACC, against Banskandi union parishad member Ismail Fakir for misappropriated 10,260 kg rice of FFP.
FFP is a poor friendly initiative for five million families to provide 30 kg of rice per month per family five month of a year at the rate of Tk 10 per kg.
