The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe into the alleged corruption of JKG Health Care chairman Sabrina Chowdhury.
The national anti-graft agency appointed an inquiry officer on Thursday to conduct a probe against the physician, ACC spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
He said ACC deputy director Selina Akhtar Moni has been asked to submit a report to the commission after conducting a probe into the alleged corruption of Sabrina.
There were allegations that despite working in the government service (as a physician at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases), Sabrina prepared and supplied 15,460 fake COVID-19 test reports by collecting samples from COVID-18 patients.
According to the allegations the ACC received, she in collusion with her husband Arif Chowdhury plundered Tk 80 million by preparing fake COVID-19 test certificates. That is why the commission decided to probe the allegations of embezzling the money and illegal wealth accumulated by Sabrina.
