Bangladesh has received another 2.12 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine doses from France under the global vaccine sharing platform COVAX on Monday.
With this, Bangladesh received 5.38 million doses so far from France.
An Emirates flight carried the third consignment of 2,126,100 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine doses to Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday.
The first consignment of 2.06 million doses of the AstraZeneca doses arrived in Bangladesh on 29 November last year while the second consignment of 1,197,600 doses of AstraZeneca doses arrived on 19 December.
All the three consignments were sent from France to Bangladesh under the same COVAX programme.
The government of France has made the sharing of Covid-19 vaccines one of its priorities, in solidarity with the countries hit by the pandemic and in order to help accelerate vaccination programme worldwide.
