Petrol pump fined Tk 200,000 for weight manipulation
Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) fined a filling station, Shorab Service Station, Tk 200,000 for weight manipulation at Kalyanpur in Dhaka.
Following the complaint of a customer, the mobile court of BSTI conducted a drive on Tuesday evening and penalised the petrol pump for manipulating weight of 10 millilitres at two of its units while supplying per 10 litres of diesel.

A private bank official, Istiak Ahmed, on Monday staged a seven-hour long protest in front of the filling station for weight manipulation while supplying the fuel oils. Later, on Tuesday morning, he filed a written complaint to the Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection.
