With the extension of the strict restrictions in the country, domestic flights have also been suspended until 14 July.
However, domestic flights will remain open for out-bound passengers or for passengers returning from abroad.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) issued a notification in this regard on Monday. According to the notification, all domestic flights in the country will be shut from 7 to 14 July as per government directives.
However, flights related to medical supplies and relief transport will be exempted from the restrictions.
The CAAB has directed to maintain social distance, follow the health guidelines strictly and conduct disinfectant activities regularly during these flights.
Sohail Kamruzzaman, a public relations officer of the CAAB, told Prothom Alo that the suspension of domestic flights has been extended. However, domestic flights will be operated for the passengers going abroad or returning from abroad.
Earlier, the government enforced strict restrictions from 6:00am on 1 July till midnight 7 July. As part of the restriction, all domestic flights were also suspended from 1 July.
