Participant dies completing marathon in Chattogram

An athlete died soon after completing a 21.1 kilometres marathon race in Patenga sea beach of Chattogram, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Jamil Hossain, 45, son of Moazzem Hossain of Nawabpara area of Patuakhali. The incident occurred at 9:00am on Friday after the ‘Half Marathon’ event at the sea beach.

Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patenga police station said, Jamil fell sick at the finishing point of the marathon. After giving first aid at the Navy Hospital, he was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the on-duty physician declared him dead.
