Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said the ruling party has no alliance with hardline group Hefazat-e-Islam.
“There is no alliance of Awami League and Hefazat. It is also not right that both parties have the same thinking. Hefazat and Qawmi madrasa are also two different things. The government approved the Qawmi madrasa in context of the present situation of the country”, the senior AL leader said while speaking at a press meet at AL president’s Dhanmondi office in the morning
Awami League called the press meet to counter BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s press meet on Wednesday that criticized the signing of deals and MoU’s during prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent India visit.
“We are practising politics in keeping with the present situation of the country. Progressive politics can only be followed by accepting reality, that is what we are doing,” Obaidul Quader added.
