17 Bangladeshis detained in Malaysia
The Malaysian immigration department has detained 17 Bangladeshi nationals in Kubang Pasu district of the country, reports The Malay Mail Online.
“Inspection was carried out on 85 illegal immigrants of various nationalities and of the total, 29 men, four women and a child were Indonesians, 17 men were Bangladeshi nationals and three Myanmar men aged between one and 57 years were detained,” the Immigration Department director, Zuhair Jamaludin, was quoted to have said in a statement.
Quoting Zuhair, the report also said all those detained were placed at the Immigration lock-up of home affairs ministry building for investigation before being sent to the Belantik Immigration Detention Depot, Sik.
