Nusrat murder accused Nur Uddin arrested

Police on Friday arrested one of the main accused in the murder case filed in connection with the death of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

A Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) team arrested Nur Uddin from Seed Store area of Bhaluka in Mymensingh district in the morning.

Nur Uddin and Shahdat Hossain alias Shameem were allegedly involved in the murder of Nusrat Jahan, the Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa student who was set afire on 6 April.

The two accused are loyal to Siraj Ud Doula, principal of the madrasa, who allegedly sexually harassed Nusrat.

Siraj was arrested on 27 March.

A 20-member committee was formed to press home the demand for the release of the principal, with Nur Uddin as convener and Shahdat Hossain joint convener.

They organised protest programmes and formed human chains in Sonagazi upazila on 28 and 30 March demanding release of the principal.

The two also allegedly issued threats to Nusrat.
