Documents of the child torture case against suspended national pacer Shahadat Hossain and his wife Jasmine Jahan are set to be sent to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
Charge sheet of the case with other documents was presented to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nuru Mia's court on Tuesday morning.
The metropolitan judge sent the documents to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court for an order over shifting the case to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
On 29 December, police submitted charge sheet against Shahadat Hossain and his wife Jasmine Jahan in the case over torturing an 11-year-old domestic help, Mahfuza Akhtar Happy.
The couple was accused in the case filed by a journalist named Mojammel Hossain under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000.
