The religious ministry has issued a notification on Tuesday asking Muslim devotees not to hold any kind of rallies including the Tajia procession on Friday, the day of Ashura, due to the massive surge of Covid-19 transmission.
The notification, signed by a senior official of the religious ministry Mohammad Anwar Hossain, reads all rites and rituals will be observed maintaining the health guidelines set by government to check the pandemic surge.
“All rallies including the Tajia procession will remain banned on the day of Ashura”, the release added.
