Two more Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims die in Saudi Arabia

Two more hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh have breathed their last in Saudi Arabia. With this, the number of Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims died this year has risen to 15. Five among them are women.

The two deceased are Shirina Akhter, 60, and Md Rafiqul Islam, 52, said the government’s hajj management website.

Shirina Akhter, who breathed her last on 7 July, is from Sultanpur in Brahmanbaria sadar upazila. Her passport no. is – EF0852839.

Md Rafiqul Islam, who passed away on 3 July, is from Goala villaga in Naogaon’s Sapahar upazila. His passport no. is – EF0420040.

A total of 60,139 Bangladeshis went Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year by 147 flights. National carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines conducted 87 flights while Saudi Airlines conducted 63 and Flynas Airlines conducted 14 flights.
