Edible oil price decreases by maximum Tk 6

The price of Soybean oil—loose and bottled—has decreased by minimum Tk three to maximum Tk six per litre, a decision taken by Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association that will be effective from Monday.

The association came up with this announcement, issuing a press release on Sunday in which they said a litre of soybean oil will be sold at Tk 180 while the bottled oil at Tk 199 from Monday. Apart from this, the price of a five-litre bottle of soybean oil will be reduced by Tk 17 to Tk 980.

Before that, customers had to spend Tk 185 and Tk 205 respectively to purchase loose and bottled soybean oil respectively.

Earlier on Sunday, commerce secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh said at the secretariat that the price of edible oil in the local market will be decreased within the next two days.
