Mirza Ali Behrouze Ispahani, chairperson of the reputed conglomerate MM Ispahani Group that holds a wide variety of businesses, died of cardiac arrest in Dhaka on Monday. He was 67.
Behrouze Ispahani was also the managing director of International Publications Ltd (IPL), mother company of business daily The Financial Express. He breathed his last at Apollo Hospital at around 5:20 am, officials of the group said quoting his family members.
His first namaz-e- janaza is scheduled to be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asr prayers and the second one at Hoseni Dalan Mosque in Old Dhaka after Maghreb prayers. He will be buried there.
Behrouze Ispahani bore the legacy of a nearly two-hundred-year- old business that includes tea, textiles, food, jute, real estate, poultry and shipping.
