‘Alta Banu’ selected for Toronto film fest

Arun Chowdhury's yet-to-be-released film, ‘Alta Banu’, has been selected for the competition section of International Film Festival of South Asia to be held in Canada's Toronto from 10 to 21 May.

The film will be screened in the main competition section of the festival,  Arun Chowdhury told Prothom Alo on Sunday.`I participated in the festival back in 2015 and 2016 with two documentaries', he said adding, `This time it is a full-length film'.‘‘I am very excited as it is my first film as a director,” he added. 

However, the shooting, dubbing and editing of ‘Alta Banu’ has already been completed and sent for censor board approval.

Based on Faridur Reza Sagar‘s story and scripted by Brindabon Das, the film is expected to be released in April.

The cast of the film includes Anisur Rahman Milon, Zakia Bari Mamo, Farjana Rikta, Raisul Islam Asad, and Mamunur Rashid, among others.
