Rafiath Rashid Mithila is highly distinctive in her performance in various roles. She has recently started hosting a TV show, ‘Amar Ami’, that was previously hosted by Aupee Karim.
The second episode of the show will be aired Saturday night. The guests of this episode are Prince Mahmud and Kona. Mithila sounded very excited about ‘Amar Ami’ while talking to Prothom Alo.
Mithila talked to Prothom Alo about the show in a recent interview.
The excerpts of the interview are as follows
Prothom Alo: What made you host ‘Amar Ami’?
Mithila: Sazzad Hossain, the producer of the show, has been requesting me to host the show for many days. ‘Amar Ami’ has been a popular show for a long time.
I thought I would not be able to do it as I wasn’t sure if I could manage the time for the regular shoots. The show means a lot to me. Acclaimed actress Aupee once hosted the show. It’s a big honour.
Prothom Alo: How does it feel to be a host?
Mithila: There is no extra pressure. It is kind of chit-chat and laughter. I do it very spontaneously and ask the questions that I intend to know about them.
Most of the guests are known to me and that's why I don't feel any pressure. Also, the producer of the show helped me lot.
Prothom Alo: how was the response after the first episode?
Mithila: Viewers appreciated it very much. Popular musician Arnob was the guest at the show. Many viewers did not know Arnob and I were cousins before the the show.
They came to know about our childhood together and so many memories through ‘Amar Ami’.
Prothom Alo: How was the response to your Eid drama?
Mithila: I had no time for shooting this Eid as I was out of the country on office work. However, I worked in a TV play ‘ Biyer Dawat Roilo’ directed by Ridwan Rony which received quite a buzz.
Prothom Alo: What are you up to now?
Mithila: I worked in a short fim called ‘Ekti Sobuj Bag’ directed by Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi that will be released on iflix, an online streaming site on Thursday.
I played a village girl coming to the city opposite Manoj Kumar. Hope, the audiences will love it.
Prothom Alo: Who do you find ‘tough’ to interview?
Mithila: I'll have to say the two whom I will be interviewing shortly, Afzal Hossain and Ayub Bacchu. I have no idea what to ask them!
Prothom Alo: Who do you keep a distance from?
Mithila: Two-faced hypocrites, who say one thing to your face and another behind your back.
