Actor Arefin Shuvo is having the time of his life with one success after another. After achieving massive success in the country, his movie Chhuye Diley Mon is being screened in US theaters. He has just won the Meril Prothom Alo Critics' Choice Award as the Best Actor of 2014 as well.
In a conversation with Prothom Alo, Shuvo acknowledged his accomplishments with humble gratefulness. “Chhuye Diley Mon was released during the World Cup, yet people rushed to the theaters to watch it. We worked very hard to make a good movie, and the hard work paid off. All credit goes to director Shihab Shahin and the whole unit,” Shuvo said.
He also expressed his gratitude to his fans. “They made me who I am today,” he said.
Chhuye Diley Mon has already been released in New York’s Bombay theater and soon will be screened in an Australian theater as well. “I got a lot of phone calls from my fans in the US who gave positive feedback about the movie,” said the elated actor.
He also talked about winning the Meril Prothom Alo Critics' Choice Award. “This is one of the most prestigious award of our country. Being selected by the critics is a very uplifting experience because they are the leading figures of the cultural sphere. Winning this award means my responsibility as an actor has been heightened a lot,” he said.
Starting as a ramp model, later a popular radio jockey, Shuvo successfully made his transition as an actor on both the big and small screens. Within a very short time, most of his movies such as Jaago, Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini, Bhalobasha Zindabaad, Chhayachhobi, Agni, Kistimat, Warning and the latest sensation Chhuye Diley Mon have earned box office success and established Shuvo as an emerging top contender of Dhallywood.
Currently, Shuvo is shooting for Ashikur Rahman-directed Musafir with new actress Marzan Jenifa.
