Budding artists' show begins at Alliance Française

A 15-day group art show, ‘Prothom Parbo’ (The First Chapter), by ‘Outdoor Artist Group’ began at Galerie Zoom of Alliance Française de Dhaka (AFD) in the city on Friday.

The participating artists are Ajoy Paul, Diptha Modak, M Faijul Islam, Nafisa Hossin Peo, Nasrin Zahan Onika, Saiful Islam, Sheikh Sarmina Mannan, Sumaiya Sharmin and Trisha Ferdoushi. All of them are the students of fine arts at the University of Development Alternative (UODA), says a press statement of AFD.

The artworks displayed on the art-show are not restricted to conventional materials and most of the works have their bases in nature.
Though these nine budding artists are exhibiting as a group, their styles and interpretation of artistic imagination are unique, it adds.
The artists are intense observers of their surrounding ambiences and they meticulously projected them through their artworks.

These paintings are refreshing and provide the art-lovers a sense of pleasure as these depictions are lively and vigorous, the AFD statement reads.
On Friday afternoon, joint secretary of shipping ministry Saiful Hassan Badal inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest, the press statement adds.
Artist Rezaun Nabi, ATN Bnagla chief news editor Rumi Noman, and University of Development Alternative (UODA) Fine Arts department chairman professor Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash, attended the opening ceremony as special guests.
The exhibition will remain open till Saturday, 11 August 2018.
