Only hours after restoration, 3G and 4G mobile data services were suspended again on Sunday night "for the sake of state security and to prevent rumours."
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) officials said the mobile operators were asked to suspend the services around 9:00pm until further notice, reports UNB.
The mobile operators shut down the services around half an hour later.
Earlier, the services were restored at 6:00pm on Sunday, after a suspension of about 28 hours. The voting in Bangladesh's national election ended at 4:00pm.
3G and 4G services had been unavailable from 3:00pm Saturday, the day before the election. 2G service was suspended later that night.
On Thursday, BTRC ordered suspension of 3G and 4G services but later withdrew the directive after around 10 hours.
