Bangladesh will host the 13th edition of South Asia Football Federations (SAFF) Championship 2020 in September next year.
Pakistan was due to host the tournament, but a new host was chosen at the SAFF Congress held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Monday, chaired by its president Kazi Md Salahuddin.
SAFF vice presidents Khadem Ali Shah (Pakistan) and Mani Kanwar (Nepal), general secretary Anwarul Huq (Bangladesh), members Md Abu Nayeem Shohag (Bangladesh), Wugen Woyanchuk (Bhutan), Kushal Das (India), Ali Omar (Maldives), IndramanTuladhar (Nepal), Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi (Pakistan), M Ramiz Mahidin (Sri Lanka) and BFF Women's Wing chairperson Mahfuza Akhter Kiron were also present on the occasion.
The congress decided to hold SAFF U-15 Women's Championship 2020 in August, SAFF U-15 Championship 2020 in October and SAFF U-18 Women's Championship 2020 in September-October.
Later, the Congress approved SAFF budgets for the 2020 events.
Bangladesh is going to host the SAFF Championship for the fourth time after 2003, 2009 and 2018 editions.
