Oscar for best playmaker

There are many pretenders but Felipe Scolari has made Oscar his playmaker for Brazil, while at Chelsea Jose Mourinho's selections confirm the belief that the 22-year-old is the real thing. He first shot to attention when scoring a hat-trick in the 2011 under-20s World Cup final (a 3-2 win over Portugal). Oscar's assists have been crucial for Chelsea, who won the 2013 Europa League and for Brazil who won the Confederations Cup the same year. He started his career at the club he supports, Sao Paulo, had a spell with Internacional and then joined Chelsea in 2012. Very solid at Chelsea, his life is made easier when playing for Brazil because of the quality of strike partners to pass to, such as Neymar, Hulk and Fred, one of a host of reasons why Brazil are fovourites to win the 2014 World Cup.
