Description: Scenic Tanguar Haor is the second Ramsar site of Bangladesh. A number of attempts to improve the condition of the Haor taken after the cancellation of the tender system could not bring much positive results. Rather, the lives and livelihoods of the people living on the banks of the Haor, the environment and the waterbody’s biodiversity are facing a deep crisis.

A chaos broke out over a documentary on the July Movement at an event titled "Reception for the Families of the July Mass Uprising Martyrs and the July Fighters," held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka, on 5 August 2026.
