Govt to establish 'Mujibnagar University' in Meherpur
The government is going to establish the 53rd public university 'Mujibnagar University' in Meherpur.
Now, there are 52 public universities and 108 private universities in the country.
An act titled 'Mujibnagar University, Meherpur Act-2022' has been approved in principle in a cabinet meeting on Monday with prime minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at her office.
Following the meeting, the cabinet secretary briefed the media about the decision.
He said, "Like other universities, we have formulated an act for this university. However, we have included two more new provisions: the university will be allowed to set up a 'Business Incubator' in improving the technical skills of its students and open different professional courses as per the demands in the market."
