40th BCS preliminary test results likely before Eid
The results of the 40th BCS preliminary examination are likely to be published before the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, said an official at Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Sunday.
The BPSC is working promptly to publish the results, the official said adding "We hope we'll be able to publish the results before the Eid."
The preliminary tests of the 40th Bangladesh Civil Service examination were held on 3 May.
A total of 412,532 candidates registered themselves to sit for the 40th BCS exam while some 327,525 candidates attended, according to BPSC.
A total of 83,438 examinees remained absent from the test held under exam centres of eight divisions.
Of the total absent examinees, 48,753 were from Dhaka division, 6,879 from Rajshahi, 7,617 from Chattogram, 5,479 from Khulna, 2,505 from Barishal, 3,064 from Sylhet, 5,063 from Rangpur and 4,078 from Mymensingh division.
On 11 September 2018, the BPSC published the 40th BCS circular seeking applications for 1,903 vacant posts.
