Teachers, students and officials of Cumilla University celebrated Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla calendar, on the campus on Sunday.
Different departments and cultural organisations arranged various programmes, including Baishakhi fair, a colourful procession and sessions of folk songs.
Wearing sari, panjabi and various traditional outfits and masks, students and teachers took part in the procession.
After marching towards the Shalbon Bihar, it ended at the Baishakhi Chattar on the campus.
Later, a cultural programme was held with the participation of the teachers and students of different departments.
