Dipu Chakma wins first gold for Bangladesh

Bangladesh taekwondo player Dipu Chakma has clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh at the 13th South Asian Games in Nepalese capital Kathmandu.

He won the medal in Individual Poomsae 29+ category on Monday.

Dipu, who won five gold medals and a silver in different international events, is participating in SA Games for the first time this year.

“I can’t express my feelings in words. I’m feeling so proud to be able to do something for my country. I’ve been waiting for this day for so long,” ecstatic Dipu said after winning the medal.

Dipu has been working with Bangladesh Army since 2001. His love with the game started since then.
