
The schedule for the 2026 Junior Scholarship Examination has been published. The examination will begin on 8 December. Candidates sitting the examination will have to follow six special instructions.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka published the schedule for the Junior Scholarship Examination today, Sunday (23 August). It also issued six instructions for the candidates.
According to the schedule, the Bangla examination will be held on 8 December, English on 10 December, Mathematics on 13 December, while Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies exam will be held on 15 December.
Earlier, the education calendar published by the Ministry of Education had announced the tentative schedule for the Junior Scholarship Examination and the expected date for publication of the results.
According to the calendar, the examination was scheduled to begin on 15 December and continue until 20 December. The tentative date for publication of the results was set for 30 December.
However, under the new decision, the Junior Scholarship Examination will begin and end earlier than scheduled.
Candidates must take their seats in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the examination begins.
The examination must be conducted according to the time specified on the question paper. The Science examination will be held for one and a half hours (1 hour 30 minutes), followed by one and a half hours (1 hour 30 minutes) for Bangladesh and Global Studies, making a total examination time of three hours (3 hours).
Candidates must collect their admit cards from the heads of their respective institutions at least seven days before the examination begins.
Candidates must correctly write and shade their roll number, registration number, subject code and other required information on the OMR form of their answer scripts. Under no circumstances may the answer script be folded.
Candidates may use ordinary scientific calculators approved by the education board during the examination.
No person other than the centre secretary, and no candidate, may bring a mobile phone or any other electronic device into the examination centre.
This year, students will sit for examinations carrying a total of 400 marks. Based on the marks obtained, talent pool and general scholarships will be awarded. Bangla, English and Mathematics will each carry 100 marks.
Students will have three hours for each of these subjects. Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies will carry 100 marks in total, with 50 marks for each subject. The examination for these two subjects will be held for a total of three hours, with one and a half hours allocated to each subject.
