IUB Beatrice Tinsley research scholarship for Women Researchers, information needed to know

To increase women’s participation in science and research and facilitate access to higher education, the Centre for Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics (CASSA) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has launched the “Beatrice Tinsley Postbac Research Assistantship”.

It offers a unique opportunity for emerging women researchers with an interest in science.

Under an IUB-funded sponsored research grant, the fellowship will appoint two full-time research assistants.

The one-year paid fellowship programme is primarily designed for women who have already completed their bachelor’s degree and intend to pursue a higher graduate degree, such as a master’s or PhD, in the future.

Selected researchers will have the opportunity to work full-time under the one-year fellowship during 2026–27. During this period, each Tinsley Research Associate will receive a monthly stipend of Tk 30,000.

Throughout the year-long programme, fellows will take part in original research, with the principal objective of publishing a full research paper as the first author based on their own research.

The assistantship will also directly support fellows in developing strong application profiles to pursue higher education at internationally recognised graduate schools.
